Seeing Tom Brady get knocked out for the season during the first quarter of the first game of the regular season was not what I had bargained for. As an unabashed Patriots fan I have been waiting for this week since January when the NY Giants wrecked what had been an otherwise outstanding season for the Pats.
It wasn't all bad however. Matt Ryan had an great regular season debut with a touch down off his first pass and finished with a 161 passing yards and a passer rating of 137.
Aaron Rogers also had an excellent game for the Packers where he is trying to fill the rather large shoes of Brett Farve with a 24-19 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
And to top it all off Brett Farve managed a narrow win against the Miami Dolphins in his first start as a Jet.
